Total time: 35 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 16 rashers streaky bacon
- 4 croissants, cut in half horizontally
- 100g cheddar
- 400g tin baked beans
- a few dashes Worcestershire sauce
- a few dashes hot sauce, plus extra to serve
- 4 eggs
- for frying vegetable oil
Method:
Step 1: Preheat the grill to high and cook the bacon, turning it once, until it’s perfectly crisp and sizzling. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or gas mark 6.
Step 2: Place the croissants on a baking tray and generously layer the bacon, cheese, and beans onto the bottom halves. Drizzle a splash of Worcestershire sauce and a dash of hot sauce over each. Top with the croissant halves and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden and crisp, the cheese is beautifully melted, and the beans are bubbling with delicious warmth.
Step 3: Fry the eggs in a touch of oil until they reach your preferred doneness, then drain them on kitchen paper. Gently lift the tops off the croissants, place the eggs on the bottom halves, then cap with the tops and serve immediately.
