Whether it's a rustic wooden platter adorned with an assortment of cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, and artisanal crackers, or a lavish spread featuring Mediterranean delicacies like olives, hummus, and grilled vegetables, grazing boards offer something for everyone to enjoy. So, next time you're planning an event or simply hosting friends at home, consider a grazing platter—it's a deliciously interactive way to share the joy of food. Check out this fabulous recipe idea from BBC Good Food.

Ingredients

  • Baked cheese, such as brie or camembert, topped with herbs and olive oil
  • Figs, grapes, prepared pomegranates or dried fruits
  • Thinly sliced cured meats, such as sausage or chorizo
  • Savoury crackers, crusty bread or breadsticks
  • Nuts and olives
  • Dips, such as hummus, chutney or taramasalata
  • Honey, or olive oil, for drizzling
  • A variety of cheeses, such as soft-rind goat’s cheese, a hard cheese (like cheddar, gruyère or manchego) and stilton

Method

Step 1: When assembling the grazing board, make sure you assemble just before serving so that everything is fresh.

Step 2: Make sure you offer a variety of ingredients, for example, including hard and soft cheeses alongside two or three cured meats, dips and a mixture of fruits and nuts is a good start!

Step 3: Always include crackers, bread, or breadsticks to accompany the cheeses and dips.

Step 4: Roll and fold the cured meats to add a variety of textures to the board.

Step 5: If you are using larger fruits, chop them up into different shapes. Trust us, this adds to the aesthetic of the board.

Step 6: Swirl the dips into ramekins and top with chopped herbs.

Step 7: Fill any gaps on the board with bay leaves and rosemary springs for decoration.

Enjoy!
