Easy Trick to Polish Tarnished Silver

Bye-bye tarnish, hello sparkle!

So you've got some tarnished silver? Don't worry, we've got your back! Tarnish may be stubborn, but with this little trick, you'll have your silver shining like new in no time.

What Causes Tarnish Anyway?

Before we dive into the tarnish-removing magic, let's understand what tarnish is. Tarnish is the result of a chemical reaction between silver and sulfur compounds in the air. It's like silver's way of saying, "Hey, I've been hanging out for too long without a good polish!"

The steps:

1. In a small bowl, mix together a little bicarbonate of soda with some water (not boiling)

2. Mix it into a paste

3. Dip a cloth into the paste and rub it onto your silverware, giving it a good scrub

4. Wipe off the excess and voilà! Your silverware will be as shiny as when you first bought it.
