Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Review of #43615 Cordless Kettle purchased 24/03/2 Kettle purchased as replacement for Russell Hobbs #3070 as in pleasing matte brushed Stainless Steel finish. So far extremely pleased with product, boils very quickly and quietly without any of the "bumping" noises associated with kettles furring/scaling up in v hard water areas.Would have awarded 5 stars but considered design/profile of spout could be improved by making it a little more pointed/sharper and attaching it to the body by Electron Beam/Plasma/Laser Welding techniques to give more flowing lines and get rid of the slightly unattractive spout pressing flanges.Would obviously cost more to manufacture but consider any increased selling price would still represent excellent value for money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jenna from Excellent - apart from the noise! This was bought to replace an identical model which had given sturdy service for 2 years and 2 months and was therefore 2 months out of guarantee. With no time to shop around I didn't hesitate to buy another. When I first used it my husband and I both commented that it was much quieter than the original. Since we have an open plan kitchen/living room we were delighted! However, after a week of normal use I am sorry to say that the decibel level has increased and it is just as noisy as the other. This is my only complaint. It would be nice to have a normal conversation whilst boiling the kettle for a cuppa! Hence the four stars awarded.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Farty from My kettle! This is the third in a line of Morphy Richards jug kettles we've bought over the past ten years and is a significant improvement over the last model, particularly in the design of its handle. Previously one had to be careful not to be scalded when the kettle was very full but this is no longer the case. Its size is ideal for the average family pot of tea and it is quick and economical to use. In addition it is a good-looking item and fits in well with our newly-refurbished kitchen. On each occasion that we've needed to replace a kettle we have shopped around but invariably returned to our first choice and not just because of the competitive price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Gadgetman from Competent product but fundamental design flaw? An attractive, competent, safe product that fulfills its primary function (i.e. it boils water). However, the fact that I cannot actually see the water level gauge whilst filling the kettle I find irritating! I attach photos illustrating my point. People with smaller hands may fair better! Morphy Richards aren't alone in adopting this sort of feature. Whether it is economy or materials that govern this I don't know. Cheaper plastic kettles often have the gauge on both sides of the kettle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sujoy from Attractive and does the job! Love my new brushed stainless steel jug kettle. The smooth lines and no-nonsense practical appearance enables easy cleaning with only a soft damp cloth. It boils quickly and quietly and looks chic in my kitchen with other products. It's light weight yet robust design means that it can still be lifted with ease to pour hot water, and be filled with one hand turning on the tap and the other holding the kettle with thumb opening the lid (doesn't matter if left or right handed). The other features I love are the cordless base which provides freedom of movement, the automatic turn off, removable limescale filter and the water gauge to know how much water there is in the kettle. An all round winner!

Rated 3 out of 5 by BobScratchit from Basic design flaw If you just want a vessel to boil water, this does the trick - it's fast, pretty quiet, and looks alright on the worktop. But surely it's not hard to design a level gauge that's actually visible. Whether or not your hand is holding the kettle and so obscuring it entirely, no water is actually visible on the gauge itself until the level has risen above the bottom of the handle. And since by far the majority of use for our kettle is one cup at a time, perhaps two, it's close to useless. Surely if we're all trying to reduce our energy and water usage, a clear gauge is a basic requirement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crystal City from Best kettle ever!!!!! This kettle looks so cool, and it bearley makes a sound compared to my old kettle. I like the button at the top that opens the lid of the kettle cuase it is quick and easy to fill it up. and I love the shiny silver colour on it. It is the best kettle I ever had in my life!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cautious1 from Learn to handle this beauty. Designed to look beautiful and it does (except perhaps in an all-white kitchen) – it looks stunning. But this is at the cost of functionality. Its water level indicator is useless, and this turns out to be a problem. Also, steam comes out of the on-off switch, which is alarming. On the plus side, it does not drip when pouring, and will not later because stainless steel should not wear out like plastic. However, its white plastic brother also looked good and had a perfect water monitor on the side.
