How To Use A Toaster

Whether you prefer it lightly golden or more towards the well-done side, a good toaster can make all the difference in achieving that perfect crunch. At Morphy Richards, we understand the importance of a well-toasted slice, which is why we're here to guide you through the simple yet essential process of how to use a toaster safely using your Morphy Richards toaster.

1. Choose Your Bread

The first step to achieving toast perfection is selecting the right bread. Whether you prefer white, brown or gluten free bread, ensure your bread slices are of uniform thickness to promote even toasting. Avoid using overly thick slices that may struggle to fit in the toaster slots or result in uneven toasting. Take a look at the slot dimensions of our toasters collections;

Collection H x W x D mm
Motive 140 x 140 x 38
Signature 125 x 230 x 35
Venture 120 x 135 x 30
Illumination 122 x 155 x 30
Accents 147 x 148 x 36
Vector 135 x 140 x 35
Equip 135 x 140 x 35
Hive 135 x 140 x 35

2. Apply The Toaster Settings

Morphy Richards 2 slice toasters and 4 slice toasters come equipped with adjustable toasting settings, allowing you to customise your toast to your desired level of crispiness. Whether you like it lightly toasted or with a deep golden hue, simply adjust the browning control knob to your preferred setting.

For newly purchased toasters make sure you use it for the first time without any bread and remember, as well all new electrical heating elements, your toaster will emit a ‘new’ smell when it is first switched on but not to worry, this is quite normal!

3. Load The Bread

Once you've selected your bread and adjusted the toasting settings, it's time to load the bread into the toaster. Place the slices gently into the toaster slots, ensuring they are positioned evenly for consistent toasting. Avoid overcrowding the toaster, as this can prevent proper airflow and result in unevenly toasted slices. Next, simply lower the bread carriage levers so that the toasting can begin!

4. Remove The Toast

Once the toasting cycle is complete, the bread carriage levers will automatically pop up and remove the toast from the toaster! Be cautious as the toast may be hot. Place the toast on a plate or toast rack to cool slightly before enjoying it with your favourite toppings.

Useful Toasting Tips:

  • If you wish to interrupt the toasting process, simply press the ‘Cancel’ button.
  • If your toast has popped up and gone cold, our toasters offer a reheat facility. To use, depress bread carriage levers and press the reheat button.
  • To toast frozen bread, do not adjust the browning control from your normal setting. Place the frozen bread in the bread slots, depress the bread carriage levers and press the defrost button.

5. How To Clean The Toaster

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Morphy Richards toaster, it's important to regularly clean and maintain it. After each use, unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before removing any crumbs from the crumb tray.

Step 1: When the appliance has cooled down completely, tap the sides of the case lightly to dislodge any crumbs stuck in the bread slots.

Step 2: Press the crumb trays to unlock and remove from the toaster.

Step 3: Empty the crumb trays and replace them then push them back into the toaster to lock back into place. Never operate the appliance without the crumb trays fitted.

Don't forget to wipe down the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth to remove any residue or greasy fingerprints!

So, with these simple steps, you can master the art of using your Morphy Richards toaster to achieve perfectly toasted slices every time. Whether it's a quick breakfast on a busy morning or hosting a leisurely brunch with friends, our range of toasters is sure to make the process simple and enjoyable. So go ahead, toast away, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a perfectly toasted slice!
