How to Get Your Hob Sparkling Clean (without using chemicals)

You need to try this to get your hob rings sparkling clean!

If there's one cleaning task we all put off in the kitchen it's cleaning our hob rings. Gas burners can easily get dirty and when food lands on the burners, it can quickly become burnt and cause blockages, which can lead to uneven heat distribution. But don't worry, keeping them clean is easier than you may think.

This method uses no chemicals and things you'll most likely have in your kitchen already. All you need is bicarbonate of soda, a lemon, hot water, and a bit of soap.

Remove all of your hob rings and place them in a large bowl. Halve a lemon and add it to the bowl, giving them a squeeze so there's some juice in the bowl. Add 1/3 - 1/2 a cup of bicarbonate of soda before pouring boiling water over the top - enough to cover the discs. Leave to work it's magic for around 20 minutes.

While they soak, wipe down the stovetop surface with hot, soapy water, making sure to remove any loose debris.

Drain away the dirty water from the bowl and clean the rings with warm soapy water.

Voila! Your gas hob burners are now sparkling clean and ready to go. Regular maintenance and cleaning will not only ensure consistent heating but also extend the lifespan of your stove. So, next time you find yourself needing to clean your hob, remember these simple steps and keep your kitchen running smoothly!
