A survey issued last week by Mothercare found that modern women have turned their back on the term ‘Housewife’, with two thirds of mothers that have given up work prefering the term ‘stay-at-home-mum’.
Respondants cited various reasons for their repulsion – some thought that the phrase has negative connotations, others found it trivialised their role in the home and a third found it plain insulting
What do all you ‘stay-at-home mums’ think? Do you find it outdated, offensive or do you not think it really matters?
